Steak a la Japonais

I got Japanese eggplant and wanted to make shigiyaki. I also got fillet mignon. Shigiyaki doesn't go well with regular steak, so I made sweet soy sauce similar to teriyaki sauce for the steak. Medium rare and roasted cauliflower on the side. It was delicious. Even my mother liked it. The other side dishes were Japanese potato salad, spinach namul.

  2. I like the way you improvise and use whatever you have, from your garden, from your refrigerator, to make the recipe truly your own, even creating a more "Asian" flavor to a very American dish.
